The great pot plant investigation

Michael O'Higgins, the chairman of the axed Audit Commission, has defended the £40,000 spent on pot plants for his organisation's 37 offices.

Local government minister Bob Neill has responded by claiming his Department for Communities and Local Government had not spent a penny on plants.

Can this be true? Newsnight investigates.

Broadcast on Monday 23 August 2010.
