Could Spain's football success boost a troubled economy?

Spain have beaten the Netherlands 1-0 to win the World Cup for the first time.

Mired in economic crisis and with unemployment at 20% Spain could certainly do with a boost. But could a new sense of confidence found on a pitch in South Africa really spill over to the troubled economy?

Paul Mason watched the game - and its aftermath - in Barcelona.

Broadcast on Monday 12 July 2010.
