Explosives expert tests 'black box' of 'bomb detector'

The BBC's Caroline Hawley took a GT200 device - which is sold as a bomb detector - to explosives expert Sidney Alford to find out what is in the 'detector card', which in this case is supposed to identify ammunition.

The GT200 is almost identical to the ADE651, the 'detector' previously investigated by Newsnight which was found not to work. Both devices have today been banned for export to Iraq and Afghanistan by the British government.
