Martha Kearney on Newsnight's relationship with politicians

When Newsnight came on the air Margaret Thatcher was prime minister and a long period of Labour exile was beginning. Then came New Labour, and a long period of Tory exile from power.

After 30 years, disenchantment with MPs is greater than it has ever been in modern times.

Our former political editor, Martha Kearney considers what has happened.
