Picking a president that best symbolises the EU

EU leaders meeting in Brussels have agreed a deal designed to win Czech backing of the Lisbon Treaty, clearing a major hurdle to its ratification and bringing the creation of a president of the EU one step closer.

But what kind of president should Europe have? And who best symbolises European ambitions? Mark Urban reports.
