A BBC investigation revealing that cleaners employed by a contractor to work in some of London's leading hotels are being underpaid has also discovered that hotel rooms are often not being cleaned properly because the room attendants are under pressure to work too quickly.
Delia Cannings from the British Institute of Cleaning Science performs a swabbing test around the edge of a bath in a room at the Park Plaza County Hall Hotel, one of the hotels in question, to check levels of cleanliness.
