Would-be Speakers set out their stalls

Next Monday MPs vote in a secret ballot next Monday to choose a successor to Speaker Michael Martin who quit over the expenses scandal.

Newsnight invited the 10 MPs vying for the role to take part in hustings. Richard Shepherd, Sir Alan Beith, Sir Michael Lord, Parmjit Dhanda and Ann Widdecombe took part.
