Stephanie Flanders: Newsnight's 'formidable' Economics Editor
|
This is Newsnight's Economics Editor Stephanie Flanders last day as she leaves to take up her new role as BBC News Economics Editor.
As a fond farewell we present some of Stephanie's recent highlights below.
Stephanie has been at Newsnight since 2002, providing detailed and engaging economic reporting and analysis. She was recently named Journalist of the Year at the Women in Public Life Awards - the judges said she had the “magic touch” of making economics sound sensible and interesting.
Newsnight Editor Peter Barron outlined her importance to the programme saying, "Stephanie has been a formidable star as Economics Editor and we'll miss her nightly tutorials."
Stephanie's CV reads like a what's what of economic analysis and advisory roles: FT; US treasury; New York Times; the UN; and of course Newsnight.
