George Bush

IRAQ

Tonight President Bush will outline his new policy on Iraq which is expected to involve sending at least 20,000 new troops. With American public support for the war ebbing away and the Democrats winning the Mid Term elections this must be one of the biggest political gambles of Bush's presidency. Mark Urban is in Washington and assesses both US public reaction and the Democrats' tactics.

NHS

Troubleshooter and business guru Gerry Robinson has spent his life turning round large organisations. Now - in a series for BBC2 - he's focused his attention on NHS waiting lists. He has emerged from the experience both shocked and frustrated with what he's seen. Tonight he goes head-to-head with Chief Executive of the NHS.

RYANAIR

Budget airline chief Michael O'Leary has today renewed his environmental battle with the government. Last week he was engaged in a furious war of words with the Environment minister Ian Pearson. Mr Pearson said Mr O'Leary's airline, Ryanair, represented "the unacceptable face of capitalism". Mr O'Leary countered by saying the minister did not know what he was talking about and his comments were "foolish and ill-informed". Now Ryanair claims it is the "greenest, cleanest airline" in Europe. Is it really ? Watch the programme. You may be surprised.

GEEK WEEK 2.0

Paul Mason

We continue our series of films to celebrate GEEK WEEK. In tonight's film Paul Mason goes on a philosophical exploration of cyberspace. He's trying to answer a question which has been troubling him. When we are exploring the internet where are we? And who are we? Whether it's researching family history or spending hours a day playing virtual games does the experience amount to more than we might imagine.

Also, as a special Geek 2.0 preview, watch our exclusive interview with Philip Rosedale, the CEO of the company behind the virtual world Second Life here online.
