Prisoners

"A very shocking and systematic failure" - Home Office Minister Tony McNulty on the disclosure that more than 1,000 foreign prisoners who should have been considered for deportation at the end of their sentence have been released. The number includes three murderers and nine rapists.

We'll be examining how the process unravelled and why it's taken almost seven years for the failure to come to light.

Plus, fresh from picking fights with the media and the judiciary over his law and order agenda, what does this latest revelation mean for Charles Clarke?

We'll be speaking to the Home Secretary.

Oil

Oil has hit a record high of $75 a barrel and looks set to continue its upward trend, as tensions increase between Iran and the US.

President Bush today suspended deposits into America's strategic oil reserves in an effort to drive down soaring prices at the pump.

Paul Mason asks why are prices so high and does it actually matter anyway?

Congo

And it has killed more people than any other conflict since the Second World War.

Martin Bell reports from the Democratic Republic Congo on the human cost of The Great War of Africa.
