George Fenton's Newsnight theme tune has been rearranged for our Inside Latin America week.

With the maestro's blessing musicians David Allison, Allan Neave and Ted McKenna have given the theme a Latin American makeover.

The new classical-style theme will open and close the show over five nights of key interviews, reports and analysis from across the continent.

Performed by world-renowned musicians, the piece will set the tone for Newsnight's exploration and celebration of all things Latin American.

The players

Classical guitarist Allan Neave has worked with many influential musicians and composers including Nikita Koshkin, Edward McGuire, and James Macmillan.

David Allison - who plays bass and ukulele on the arrangement - has pioneered a unique looping technique in which he records and layers his performance in real time to make a truly cinematic experience.

Percussionist Ted McKenna was and still is the man driving the drums in the Sensational Alex Harvey Band and has also worked with Rory Gallagher, Greg Lake, John Martyn and Womack and Womack.
