In Tuesday's programme we reported on the man who isn't there - Michael Crick tried to find evidence of Tony Blair in Labour's election literature.
We asked viewers to email us if they had received any Labour Party election literature featuring Tony Blair.
Congratulations to Jonathen Millins and Alam Navsa who have found leaflets with a picture of Tony Blair.
I have this afternoon, just received a leaflet with Tony Blairs face included (even if it is the back page). I have included pictures of it, and I hope this helps. It is called 'Labour Rose; South East European Special Issue' and Tony Blairs face is in 3.5"x2.5" photo.
Jonathan Millins
You asked if anyone has received anything with Tony Blairs photo. In Leicester where I live All Muslim homes have received a letter with Blairs photo and signiture, talking about how Labour has benefited Muslims In Britain, and how he felt the war in Iraq was justified. However His words have no standing in the Muslim community as he has not only made Britain unsafe, but he has managed to put Muslims at risk because non Muslims see all Muslims as terrorist.
Alam Navsa
Here are some of the rest of your emails:
I've got a Labour Party European Election leaflet that tells me the Conservatives are led by Michael Howard. Is that any help?
Barney Scott
Not only no Tony, but theres no mention of Labour on my local ward pamphlet. You have to look in the small print at the bottom to see 'printed by Reading and District Labour Party'.
Adrian Windisch,
In our local party we decided this year not to put Blair picture this time
because we believe he is much better known after 7 years' premiership than
he was in 1997 and 2001. Trust this will answer your question and Michael
Crick can put that in his pipe and smoke it.

Re Tony Blair and the local electionleaflets. Pictures of the Prime Minister along with his comments on education have appeared in election leaflets issued in Tettenhall Wightwight. The Prime Minister visited a local school on Monday and subsequently we have had nothing but positive comments about him including comments tonight that he is the best Prime Minister this country has ever had.

Not only is it impossible in the current crop of election literature to find any reference to Tony Blair (surely no bad thing), but in the "Vote Ken Today" advert on page 6 of today's Independent there isn't even any reference to Labour, even in the smallest of typefaces. Politicians cynical? That cannot be so, can it?
Nick Evans
Not only does Tony Bliar not appear on the council poster for my ward (Lozells and East Handsworth in Birmingham which has a large Muslim electorate) but the main picture shows the 3 Labour candidates proudly grinning besides Robin Cook! Mr Cook declares "Despite my opposition to the war in Iraq, I shall be voting Labour on 10th June and urge you to do the same also."
Christopher Anton
I have my postal vote waiting on the table to be filled in. Tonight I watched with interest your programme on election leaflets. So far here in Lincolnshire we have not received a single piece of literature from any party. How can politicians expect people to become involved in the election process is if they cannot be bothered to go to the trouble of informing the public of their policies. I have little knowledge of policies (apart from that gained from watching programmes such as yours). For the first time ever I will not be voting and my postal vote will remain sat on the table at home!
Paul Reid
Just checked the junk mail after your report on the local elections. The Labour one did not have a picture of Mr Blair but the Conservative one had Mr Howard at the top left of his letter to readers.

Matt Furber's ideal candidate

Sorry this would be the only candidate I'd vote for...

I haven't come across anything bearing the Prime Minister's picture either, but I thought you might be interested to read a few quotes from a recent campaign leaflet, put through my door by the local Enfield Labour Party:
"Before Ken Livingstone, Labour's Mayor, took office in 2000..." "Ken Livingstone, London's Labour Mayor, said..." "Ken Livingstone, Labour Mayor for London..." "Labour's Mayor, Ken Livingstone, commented..."
Rather Labouring the point, wouldn't you say? Presumably all the campaign materials were drafted after the gentleman in question was readmitted to the party, although, curiously, I note that London's Labour Mayor omits any mention of his affiliation in his own manifesto, published in the Greater London Returning Officer's 'London Elects' booklet, which I received yesterday.
Chris Trawin
'Yes', I have received Labour leaflet, but 'No' it hasn't got Blair's face
or name on. However, why is it only me screaming at the TV and at that
ridiculously annoying reporter you had on saying "why does his face need to
be on it?" Answer me one question. What is the name of the Labour party's
leader? Yeah, thought you might know that. One more thing. Got any idea what
he looks like? Yep, thought you might know that too. So WHY does the party
NEED to splatter him all over a campaign leaflet? It's the other party's who
are trying to oppress their party leader's photo on us...

Leigh Ardener sent in this Big Conversation leaflet

If you are looking for pictures of Tony Blair election material, I suggest you look at the party website, www.labour.org.uk. There's plenty there!
Incidentally, I can't find any pictures of Michael Howard on our Local Tories' leaflet.
John Fletcher
Far from receiving leaflets wth tony blair's picture we have not received labour leaflets at all, and certainly workers for the three main parties have not been seen. it would appear that the workers for the main parties have completely lost heart and given up altogether
Terence Jones
I have just watched your piece on Labour Party literature. I live in Croydon and, thankfully, have only received one piece of Tory literature. This promotes the Tory GLA candidate for the Croydon & Sutton constituency and also mentions the Mayoral and European elections. The Tory candidate's photo features 11 times but there is no photo or mention of Steve Norris nor Michael Howard.
Mick Anteney
I haven't even received a labour leaflet - except the London Mayor brochure that was multi-party... and you guessed it - not only was Tony Blair not mentioned - but the Labour logo was so small as to be almost anonymous. The "Ken for London" badge is Labour neutral and his leaflet doesn't mention Tony, but I guess you'd already know that!
Simon Maddrell
I haven't had any promotional material at all from the Labour Party, never mind promotional material with Tony Blair's picture. Not this time, not last time. Plenty of 'stuff' from the Tories (M Howard very much in evidence), Lib Dems and others. But Labour conspicuous by their absence. Ah, well, I don't need junk mail anyway !
Diana O'Donnell
We have the vote labour leaflet for the London region euro elections. It has no photos of T Blair and does not mention T Blair once.
We also have a newspaper sizes glossy leaflet for the London mayor, from Ken Livinsgtone, which only says once that Ken is the Labour candidate. It says vote ken, and says twice that the choice is 'Ken' Tory' or 'Lib Dem'. And separately, and less prominently just the once it says vote labour. It only really associates Labour with the Labour constituency assembly candidate, and that only 3 times on pages 3 and 4.
Mike Cooper
Thanks very much for all your e-mails. As far as we can see, the leaflet sent in by Leigh Ardener is a Big Conversation letter and not part of the election campaign. Following John Fletcher's advice we went to the Labour Party web site, but Tony Blair's not on the front page there either.
