Deepcut barracks
Cost cuts leading to a dangerously slack army training regime at the notorious Deepcut barracks may lie behind the deaths of four army recruits at the base, Newsnight has learned. In an exclusive interview we heard the concerns of the man who used to run the training programme at the base.

Compulsory screening
The Conservatives say they would screen all new immigrants for diseases and wouldn't allow them to settle here if they would drain NHS resources. They say compulsory screening is essential to prevent infectious diseases being brought into the country. Are they right?
