Worldcom
Probably the biggest accounting scandal of modern times where a sleight of hand put the company in the profit when it should have shown a loss of millions of dollars.

We had an in-depth interview with the former Chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission - the US financial watchdog. He warned of the dangers of more events like Worldcom, and of a grave crisis of confidence in world equity markets.

Mansion House Speech
Plus - that Mansion House Speech again. Evan Davis, the BBC's Economics Editor deciphered Mr Brown's message about the British economy.

Rail Safety
Newsnight had an exclusive television interview with a senior rail safety expert, veteran of Britain's major rail crash inquiries, who lost his job for speaking out about the dangerous state of the country's railways.

Affordable Housing
