Presenter Paul Lewis

Presenter Paul Lewis

Paul Lewis has been a freelance financial journalist since 1987.

He writes extensively on money and is a regular guest on BBC Breakfast and News 24.

He was a reporter on Money Box in the 1990s and, after a three year stint on Radio 5 Live, returned as presenter in September 2000.

Paul has won numerous awards.

In 2008 he was named Best Industry Commentator at the Daily Telegraph Wealth Management Awards.

In 2006 the Association of British Insurers gave him its Lifetime Achievement Award and earlier that year he was named Consumer Pension and Investment Journalist of the Year by Aon.

Paul says "Money Box is there to make a difference to the finances of its listeners.

"It is rightly regarded as a trusted source of financial information and news.

"It is a marvellous show to work on. And a wonderful team of people to work with."

He writes two monthly columns in Saga Magazine and a weekly comment on its website.

He also contributes to the magazines Good Homes and Community Care.

His books include Money Magic, Live Long and Prosper, Pay Less Tax, and Beat the Banks.

He is an authority on the Victorian writer Wilkie Collins and one of the editors of the complete edition of his letters, published in 2005 and now being prepared for electronic publication.

He runs his own website, which has almost nothing about money on it at all.
