Coping with the recession:
Small Business
Saturday, 15 August 2009 at 1204 BST On Radio 4 and Online

Many small businesses are struggling to survive in an economy where customers are tightening their belts and banks are reluctant to lend.

In a Money Box special programme Penny Haslam looks at what advice there is to help small businesses cope with the recession.

Money Box reporter, Bob Howard, visits a small firm in North Wales, called Anglesey Sea Salt, which sells organic salt and which has been trying to secure a loan through the government-backed Enterprise Finance Guarantee Scheme.

Penny Haslam also gets tips from a manufacturing company that has survived for the past 250 years.

Penny is joined by a panel of experts:

Julie Meyer, Ariadne Capital

Noel Guilford, Forum of Private Business

Andy Berrow, Business Link

The programme will be broadcast on Saturday, 15 August at 1204 BST and repeated on Wednesday, 19 August at 1502 BST.
