Pensions: your questions

Amanda Davidson, Michelle Cracknell and Malcolm McLean
BBC Radio 4's Money Box Live
Wednesday 1 July 2009 at 1502 BST On BBC Radio 4 and Online

On Wednesday's programme presenter Paul Lewis and guests took your questions about pensions.

Recent figures from the Department for Work and Pensions show that up to 1.71 million pensioners are failing to claim the Pension Credit they are entitled to.

Are you eligible for Pension Credit and how do you apply?

Perhaps you have a question about the state pension?

How much will yours be worth and when will you receive it?

What are the advantages and disadvantages of State Pension deferral?

Maybe you have a question about joining an occupational or personal scheme?

How much do you need to save and what do you need to consider?

Is it worth topping up your pension with Additional Voluntary Contributions (AVCs)?

Paul Lewis was joined by:

• Michelle Cracknell, actuary and strategy director at investment group Skandia

• Amanda Davidson, director, Baigrie Davies

• Malcolm McLean, chief executive, The Pensions Advisory Service

Presenter: Paul Lewis
Producer: Diane Richardson
