BBC Radio 4's Money Box Live was broadcast on Monday, 28 April 2008 at 1502 BST.
On Money Box Live, Vincent Duggleby took your questions about mortgages and put them to a panel of expert guests.
As the credit crunch continues, it is estimated that 1.4 million households will be coming off short-term fixed rate mortgages in 2008.
But the housing market is changing rapidly and lenders are less keen to offer competitive deals.
So if you are coming to the end of an existing loan you may need advice on finding a suitable replacement.
How do you choose between trackers, discounted, offset or fixed rates?
Or are you having trouble getting on to the housing ladder in the first place?
And if you are offered a loan, what are the likely fees and is it unwise to add these to the mortgage product?
Are you are anxious about, or struggling to meet, higher mortgage costs?
And what are your rights and responsibilities if you cannot meet repayments?
Where can you turn for help?
Vincent Duggleby was joined by:
Simon Tyler, managing director, Chase de Vere Mortgage Management
Beccy Boden Wilks, debt counsellor, Money Advice Trust
Ray Boulger, senior technical manager, John Charcol
