This free phone helpline was set up by the Energy Retail Association and offers practical energy advice for people concerned about bills.

Winter fuel payments helpline - 08459 15 15 15 (0845 601 5613 for textphone users). Lines are open from 0830 - 1630 Monday to Friday.
An annual payment to help people aged 60 and over with the heating costs in winter.
Eligible people between 60 to 79 get either £100 or £200, depending on their circumstances in the qualifying week (17-23 September 2007). Eligible people aged 80 or over get an extra £50 or £100.
