Long term care: Your questions
Pensioners playing dominos
We answered your questions on long term care

BBC Radio 4's Money Box Live was broadcast on Monday, 12 June, 2006, at 1502 BST.

Money Box Live presenter Paul Lewis took your questions on long term care and put them to a panel of expert guests on Monday.

Who pays for long term care? Is it the council, the NHS or you? Will it count against you if you have savings or property?

What can you do now to plan for the future? How much might you need? And what happens when the money runs out?

Our panel of experts were here to give you advice.

We were joined by:

  • Nicola Mackintosh, partner, Mackintosh Duncan solicitors
  • Pauline Thompson, policy officer, Age Concern
  • Philip Spiers, managing director, NHFA Care Fees Advice

    Presenter: Paul Lewis
    Producer: Sonia Rothwell
