Charities call for tax credit reform

Nearly £2bn has been overpaid in child and working tax credits, new figures released by HM Revenue & Customs have revealed.

Charities and pressure groups have called for reform of the tax credit system, claiming that vulnerable households are suffering as the Revenue seeks to claw back payments it has mistakenly made.

We challenged Paymaster General Dawn Primarolo over the tax credit debacle and spoke to Kate Bell, Policy and Research Officer at One Parent Families.
