Queen Victoria's closest confidant

The close relationship between Britain's Queen Victoria and her beloved husband Albert has been the subject of books, exhibitions and even a film.

But what about others who were close to her? A new book says that in her final years, Queen Victoria's closest confidant was an Indian servant called Abdul Karim - who spent 14 years at her side.

Mishal Husain spoke to Shrabani Basu, author of the book 'Victoria and Abdul'.

Impact Asia with Mishal Husain is broadcast weekdays at 1300, 1330 and 1400 GMT on the BBC World News channel. Find out more information about regional broadcast times here.
