When are the programmes broadcast?

The programmes are broadcast on BBC Two. Full details are available on the IF website. Transmission details for other BBC programmes can be found on the BBC listings site: What's On.

How does IF differ from other current affairs programmes on the BBC?

IF explores and analyses the big issues facing us in the years ahead. The programmes are drama documentaries which create future scenarios based on existing trends and technological advances. The scenarios are fictional, the interviews and the issues raised are real and matter now.

Who composed the music for IF?

Composer Chris Blackwell was responsible for creating the IF signature tune. A former drummer with Robert Plant, Chris has written music for several advertising campaigns and other BBC programmes including Breakfast With Frost and What the World Thinks of America. You can watch and listen to these on his website at www.chrisblackwell.co.uk.

Can I watch the programme on this website?

Unfortunately, because of rights issues, you cannot watch entire episodes of IF on the website.

How can I contact the programme with my views, comments or other suggestions?

You can e-mail us at if@bbc.co.uk or use the contact us page on this website. We welcome all comments but unfortunately, given the volume of e-mails we receive, cannot promise a response.

Why has my comment not been published on the comments page?

We cannot publish all comments that we receive because of the high volume. However, we aim to publish a good cross-section of the views we receive.

Why has my comment been edited?

The BBC is responsible for all the comments published on the website. Therefore, we have to remove any libellous or potentially libellous statements from messages. We also aim to publish as many comments as possible, and will sometimes shorten statements to make it easier for users to read as many different views as possible.

How can I find out more information about the programmes?

The website will carry information on all the programmes, but if you have a specific inquiry please contact the programme team (see contact details above) and we'll do our best to help.

Can I get a transcript or tape of items on the programme?

Unfortunately we do not have the resources to provide VHS tapes or transcripts of the programme.

How can I find out about other BBC Programmes?

You can use the search bar at the very top of the page on this website. Or, you can go direct to BBC Information's web page at bbc.co.uk/info

Can you tell me about job opportunities/work experience?

All BBC jobs are advertised on the BBC jobs website. The site also includes information on careers and trainee schemes within the BBC.

All BBC work experience queries should be directed to:
