Read the test results

We like many things about Europe from going on holiday to sun dried tomatoes and good red wine. But many of us have reservations about an ever closer European Union.

Those were the main conclusions to emerge from our interactive test in which over 80,000 people took part to gauge their attitudes to Europe.

Around 57% were categorised as Mr and Mrs Chiantishire, the most pro-European category.

Another 27% emerged as more eurosceptic, dubbed Mr and Ms Costa Del Sol. They want Europe for trading purposes and holidays but nothing more.

Only 10% emerged as Mr and Mrs Little Islanders wanting Britain to pull out of Europe. While another 6% registered as Mr and Ms Dover Straits, content for things to stay as they are.

Men tended to be slightly more sceptical than women and younger people were more pro-Europe. Northern Ireland and Scotland were more euro-friendly while Plymouth was the most sceptical.
