Beeban Kidron is one of the few women to have made it to the big time as a film director. She directed the second Bridget Jones movie The Edge of Reason - but says she was vilified at time and accused of having sold out to get a box office hit.
She tells HARDtalk's Sarah Montague that it is important women are allowed to direct blockbuster films to counter the glass ceiling in the industry. Earlier this year the Cannes Film Festival was criticised when all 22 films in the competition were directed by men.
