Lionel Shriver: 'Not on a campaign to stop reproduction'


Lionel Shriver's novel We Need To Talk About Kevin became a bestseller - despite being deemed too dark and uncomfortable a read and having been given very little publicity.

Now the story, written from the perspective of the mother of a teenage killer, has been made into a critically acclaimed film.

Sarah Montague spoke to Lionel Shriver about the book and what it was that frightened her about the idea of motherhood.
