Dame Kiri hits out on pressure for young singers to be thin

Dame Kiri Te Kanawa is one of the greatest opera singers of the past four decades.

The New Zealand born soprano has performed in the great opera houses of the world and sold millions of records.

She's still singing and is also helping the next generation of operatic talent to come through.

But Dame Kiri says some young singers are pressured to be thin and sing like the larger singers of the past but with "tiny bodies".
