Israel runs the risk of becoming a 'pariah state' - that's the stark warning from one of the country's best-known writers, Amos Oz.

But as the government of Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu remains defiant over its handling of the Gaza flotilla raid and settlement building, it risks further straining relations with friends and former allies.

Stephen Sackur speaks to Deputy Prime Minister, Dan Meridor and asks if Israel is becoming isolated does it matter?
