Burmese election signifies a 'new beginning'

We are living in what's already been dubbed the Asian Century. But, as economic power shifts eastwards, Asian nations are faced with new strategic challenges.

Surin Pitsuwan is the Secretary General of Asean, the group of south east Asian nations which talks of EU style integration.

He says "no election is perfect", but insists that Burma's upcoming election signifies "a new beginning". The rhetoric is ambitious but what about the reality?
