Has China empowered its people?

Stephen Sackur talks to one of China's most influential campaigners for workers rights.

Twenty years ago, Han Dongfang was imprisoned as a result of his protest in Tiananmen Square. He has been barred from the Chinese mainland ever since but his campaign for better working conditions goes on.

In the second interview from Hong Kong he warns international companies that by signing labour contract agreements with the All China Federation of Trade Unions they are not reaching out to workers in a legitimate way.

The full interview with Han Dongfang was first broadcast on HARDtalk on Wednesday 25th November 2009.
