John Prescott MP, Deputy PM 1997 to 2007

In a HARDtalk interview broadcast on 22nd September 2009, Britain's former Deputy Prime Minister talks to Stephen Sackur.

When he was a key figure in Tony Blair's Labour Government John Prescott was seen as an old school politician with a heavyweight reputation.

He was in the thick of negotiations that led to the Kyoto climate deal a dozen years ago.

Now he is out of Government, but he is still campaigning using the power of the internet to push his passions, from climate change, to renewal of the Labour party.

This interview will be shown on BBC World News at 0330 (except Middle East and South Asia), 0830, 1430, 1830, 2030 and 2230 GMT (except Middle East and South Asia)

HARDtalk is also broadcast on the BBC News channel at 0430 & 2330
