In a HARDtalk interview broadcast on 1st June 2009, Stephen Sackur talks to Tadjadine Bashir Niam, Secretary of External Affairs for the United Resistance Front.

The URF's leader, Bahr Idriss Abu Garda, has appeared voluntarily before the International Criminal Court, accused of war crimes in Darfur.

But on the ground in Darfur the humanitarian situation remains serious.

Some rebel groups continue to fight each other and a peace deal with the Sudanese Government appears elusive.
