In a HARDtalk interview shown on 2nd May 2008, Stephen Sackur talks to Professor Richard Falk, UN Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the Palestinian Territories

As the international donors conference takes place in London, Israel is under international pressure to improve the living conditions of Palestinians.

Richard Falk is the new UN Special Rapporteur mandated to monitor human rights in the Occupied Territories, but Israel has denied him a visa because of his past comments likening the Israelisí behaviour to that of the Nazis.

On the day he takes up his new post Stephen Sackur asks Richard Falk - can he be a credible witness?

HARDtalk is broadcast on BBC World News at 03:30 GMT, 08:30 GMT, 14:30 GMT, 20:30 GMT and 22:30 GMT.

Hardtalk can also be seen on BBC News at 04:30 & 23:30.
