Zimbabwe is close to economic collapse.

The ruling party Zanu-PF is factionalised and preoccupied with the succession of the Robert Mugabe.

The President has ruled Zimbabwe since independence in 1980.

The country's main opposition party, the Movement for Democratic Change, has also broken into factions and is thought to be losing popular support.

Stephen Sackur asks David Coltart, a senior member of the MDC, if the party has what it takes to gain power.
