In a Hardtalk Extra programme broadcast on Friday 15th September, Gavin Esler spoke to Hollywood icon Patrick Swayze.

Patrick Swayze established himself as one of Hollywood¿s iconic leading men with his first smash hit Dirty Dancing.

It was the perfect role for Swayze, the son of a ballet teacher, who grew up in Texas with a passion for dance.

In London for the London West End run of Guys and Dolls, he tells Gavin Esler how a love for dance first lead to bullying, but ultimately to Hollywood stardom.

He also talks about the kind of pressure Hollywood places on leading men like Tom Cruise, and his friend Mel Gibson.

HARDtalk Extra can be seen on BBC World at 0330 GMT, 0830 GMT, 1430 GMT, 1830 GMT, 2330 GMT.

It can also be seen on BBC News 24 at 04:30 and 23:30.
