World leaders are due to gather in St Petersburg next week for the G8 summit.

But should Russia even be in the G8 of leading industrialised democracies?

Concerns have been raised in Western capitals over the state's control of the media, corruption and Russia's relations with her neighbours.

But are those fears justified? Sergei Ivanov is Russia's Defence minister and a leading candidate to take over from President Putin in 2008.
