What motivated the terrorists to commit these atrocities?

In a HARDtalk interview on 1 August, Nick Clarke talks to the Islamic Scholar Professor Tariq Ramadan, and Sidi Muhammad Umar of the Ramadhan Foundation.
The reaction in Britain's Muslim community to the London attacks has been swift and apparently unanimous - these killings had absolutely no sanction in Islam.
But it is a community in shock - asking itself how apparently devout young men could commit such acts of terror in the name of their religion.
Tariq Ramadan is an Islamic writer and academic based in France and Sidi Muhamad Umar represents young Muslims in the UK.
Both represent Muslims advocating urgent action be taken to stop the killing.
Tariq Ramadan and Sidi Muhamad Umar talk to Nick Clarke.
