Jane Fonda - Hollywood's Chameleon?

Gavin Esler caught up with Jane Fonda in Cambridge

In a Hardtalk Extra interview broadcast on Friday 1st July, Gavin Esler spoke to Jane Fonda about the wide variety of roles she has played over the years - both on and off screen.

Jane Fonda has starred in classic films such as Barefoot
in the Park, Barbarella, and Coming Home, which brought her glory at the Academy Awards.

But she is also well-known for her fitness videos and - controversially - her political activism.

Because of her anti-war stance in the 1970s many Americans still brand her a traitor and think of her as "Hanoi Jane".

She tells Gavin Esler how this has been misinterpreted and how she feels about her country's image abroad today.
