Judaism Today
The menorah is a traditional symbol of judaism
In a Hardtalk Extra interview broadcast on Friday 7th October, Gavin Esler talks to journalist Jonathan Freedland and comedian-turned writer David Baddiel.

Freedland and Baddiel are two of the brightest men of their generation.

One is a leading journalist, the other a well-known comedian, recently turned writer.

Both are Jewish and have recently published books which seek to assess the issues - past and present - of being both Jewish and British.

As Jews celebrate the beginning of their new year this week, questions of identity seem all the more poignant.

HARDtalk Extra can be seen on Fridays on BBC World at 03:30 GMT, 08:30 GMT, 15:30 GMT, 18:30 GMT and 23:30 GMT.

It can also be seen on BBC News 24 at 04:30 and 23:30
