David Bailey's work is known for its distinctive style

In a Hardtalk Extra interview broadcast on Friday 23rd September, Gavin Esler talks to the photographer David Bailey.
David Bailey defined a decade. The "Swinging Sixties" were captured by his lens.
He shot the Beatles, the Rolling Stones and the first of the supermodels in a style that became a signature.
Born in London's East End, he was the first of the working-class photographers to make the breakthrough into the then stuffy world of fashion journalism.
He says that he's only ever been interested in shooting people and that the secret is in the connection between the photographer and the model.
HARDtalk Extra can be seen on Fridays on BBC World at 03:30 GMT, 08:30 GMT, 15:30 GMT, 18:30 GMT and 23:30 GMT.
It can also be seen on BBC News 24 at 04:30 and 23:30
