Regaining the public's trust
Lord Butler's Report highlighted flaws in security intelligence.

In a HARDtalk interview on 14 October, Julian Worricker talks to British MP Michael Mates.

Conservative British MP Michael Mates was a member of the Butler committee which was set up in the UK to inquire into the security intelligence used to justify the war in Iraq.

Knowing what we know now, that there weren't any weapons of mass destruction, wasn't that intelligence simply wrong?

And how can we trust what the intelligence services say in the future?

HARDtalk can be seen on BBC World at 03:30 GMT, 08:30 GMT, 11:30 GMT, 15:30 GMT, 18:30 GMT and 23:30 GMT

It can also be seen on BBC News 24 at 04:30 and 23:30
