Images which marry science with beauty


An exhibition of stunning visual images which add to our understanding of science has gone on display.

These finalists of the Wellcome Image Awards include a bloody sticking-plaster and the wing of a moth.

The judging panel were looking for images that not only convey scientific information, but also had aesthetic beauty

George Alagiah speaks to Catherine Draycott, Head of Wellcome Images about some of the pictures.
