If you have a query for the File On 4 team, please check this section before sending an email. It may have an answer for you.

How do I purchase tapes?
We are sorry but we cannot provide tapes of File On 4. Our copyright and contractual agreements only cover broadcasts on radio and online. This means we cannot make copies of our programmes for public distribution.
How can I listen to the programme online?
Each edition of File On 4 is broadcast on the internet simultaneously with UK transmission, and is available to hear for one week only here on the programme website or by clicking through to the "Listen Again" page.
(Occasionally, if a programme contains excerpts from other sources, rights issues may mean we are not allowed to offer the full programme on the site.)
While File On 4 is off air, listeners will not be able to listen to the programme online until the following series. But scripts of past programmes can be downloaded from the transcripts page.
Why does the audio programme not work?
If you cannot hear the programme then it could be that your computer does not have the correct software needed to listen to it from the BBC website. You can download the software needed for free from the Real Player website.
When can I get a transcript of the latest File On 4?
Transcripts of File On 4 programmes are published here on the website within two weeks of each broadcast.

Why has my comment not been published?
We cannot publish all comments that we receive due to the volume sent. However, we aim to publish a good cross-section of the views we receive.
Why has my comment been edited?
The BBC is responsible for all the comments published on the site. Therefore, we have to remove any libellous or potentially libellous statements from messages. We also aim to publish as many comments as possible, and will sometimes shorten statements to make it easier for users to read as many different views as possible.
How can I submit a programme idea?
All programme ideas can be submitted via email or by post. We are always keen to receive your ideas. Visit the Contact File On 4 page for details.
How do I obtain information on forthcoming programmes?
We aim to publish File on 4 details a week in advance of transmission on this site, along with information about some other Radio 4 current affairs programmes.
How can I find out about past programmes?
Information on recent editions of File on 4 is available on our transcripts page.
