Athens has traditionally banked on a steady flow of tourists attracted to its classical heritage.
But one of the unsavoury byproducts of the Greek debt crisis has been the epidemic of graffiti all around the city.
Volunteers have been rolling up their sleeves and cleaning up many of the popular tourists haunts in Athens and as Rajan Datar reports by wiping the slate clean there is also symbolic benefit.
