Police in Ukraine have been preparing for Euro 2012 for months amid fears from some that the tournament could see outbreaks of racist violence.

Part of the provision has been free English lessons for police but Rajan Datar discovered that very few actually spoke English when he first arrived in Kiev and was trying to find his way round.
