American fall colours and African fruit bat migration

During October and November millions of African fruit bats will be on the move and filling the night skies as a mass migration starts from across southern Africa to the Kansanka National Park in Zambia.

In the US, the autumn leaves change colour across New England in the east while on the west coast San Francisco prepares for a major surfing competition.

China will mark 100 years since the revolution of 1911 ended imperial rule and in Britain fireworks will light up the night sky on Bonfire Night marking the failed attempt by Guy Fawkes to blow up Parliament in 1605.
