Whale watching and summer in the Arctic

The Edinburgh Fringe - the world's largest arts festival will be taking place in August. The city will also be hosting the National Ballet of China later in the month at the International Festival.

Spring flowers in the Western Cape of South Africa are coming into bloom, and it's also the best time to go whale watching off the coast.

You can also experience 24-hour sunlight north of the Arctic Circle, where the tough Polar Circle Marathon will be taking place in October.
