The first Bradt travel guide was written in 1974 by Hilary Bradt and her husband George on a river barge on the Amazon, and has since grown into a leading boutique publisher.

Bradt Guides are considered to be particularly good on local detail and more unusual parts of the world not covered by other guide books.

Gwenan Edwards met Hilary Bradt and spoke to her about travelling and how technology is changing the industry.
