Can there be shark protection alongside shark tourism?


Hunted, maimed and chased, the whale shark is vulnerable to extinction.

An effort by the Maldivian government - with a bit of help from British and Maldivian students - is trying to change that.

But tourists still want a glimpse of the world's largest shark. Are they getting too close?
