Lebanese people returning to their homes after the end of the Israeli offensive
Crossing Continents will be broadcast on Thursday, 7 December 2006, at 1102 GMT
On BBC Radio 4 and online

The war between Israel and Hezbollah this summer destroyed much of south Lebanon.

But afterwards the Islamist party handed out thousands of dollars in cash for people to rebuild their homes.

Four months after the ceasefire, as Lebanon descends into a new crisis, Tim Whewell visits the region to find out how Hezbollah is winning hearts and minds again.

Did a war that was supposed to weaken them end up making them stronger than ever?

Crossing Continents was broadcast on Thursday, 7 December 2006, at 1102 GMT and repeated on Monday, 11 December 2006, at 2030 GMT.

Presenter: Tim Whewell
Producer: Caroline Pare
